Haw River State Park
Browns Summit is blessed to have a state park located right here in town. The Haw River State Park is a great way to get back to nature with 6 acres of lake front and scenic hiking trails. It also hosts The Summit Environmental Education Center – the center is available for conferences and is primarily used for training park staff and its popular with local teachers.
Bold Moon Nature Preserve
If you want to escape to nature then you’ll want to check out the Bold Moon Nature Preserve. You won’t find any park staff or modern amenities here – just nature as it was originally intended. You can explore an old carriage trail, take a hike along Reedy Fork Creek or just lean back and enjoy the wildlife.

Just a short drive away in nearby High Point is a great adventure for the kids. The All a Flutter Butterfly Farm is a place where the kids can get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures. It’s a great way to keep the kids entertained.
